This plant is native to the lowland tropical rainforest of western Africa. It’s a very popular houseplant that has gained the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
It gets its name from the giant flamboyant leaves which have a broad apex and a narrow middle resembling a fiddle.
It likes the light, but not direct sun, and watering when the top two inches of soil are dry. It will appreciate a regular mist.
