Topiary farm animal frames

Handmade frames of hens, cockerels, ducks, geese, sheep, donkeys and cows, for a farmyard you grow yourself.

Farm animals suit topiary well. You can tell what they are even from a rough green outline, and they look at home in a country garden, on a smallholding or outside a farm shop. A few hens on a lawn, or a sheep in a border, will get people talking.

Poultry

Our chicken, cockerel, duck and goose frames come in medium, large and extra large, so you can put together a family group in different sizes. There are flat 2D versions of the hen and cockerel as well.

Larger animals

For something bigger, we make frames of a sheep, a donkey and a cow. They need more plant and more time to fill than the poultry, but they make an impressive feature in a field corner or a large garden. If you'd like the shape without the clipping, Luigi Frosini's metal sculptures include sheep, pigs and a goose.

How to grow them

Set the frame over a young evergreen with small leaves, such as box, Ilex crenata or euonymus. As it grows, tuck the shoots inside the wire and trim off anything outside it. Frames come bare as standard, and most can be ordered with a mesh covering or a plant. Plants come with free plant food. Frames are made to order and usually dispatched within a week.
