Small animal topiary frames

Cats, rabbits, squirrels, puppies, hedgehogs, mice and teddy bears, in sizes that sit happily in a pot on the patio.

Many of the frames in this collection are under 50cm tall, which makes them a good place to start if you haven't tried topiary before. A smaller frame needs only one plant and fills more quickly, so you see the shape sooner.

What's in the range

Cats come sitting, lying and walking, as well as in flat 2D versions. Rabbits and squirrels come in medium, large and extra large. There are puppies, teddy bears, a hedgehog, a mouse, an elephant, a dolphin and lambs too. We make every frame by hand from galvanised steel wire and coated mesh at our New Forest workshop, so each one is slightly different.

Growing your own

Plant a young evergreen with small leaves, such as box, Ilex crenata or euonymus, put the frame over it and tuck the shoots inside as they grow. Trim anything outside the wire two or three times over the summer. Frames come bare as standard, and most can be ordered with a mesh covering or a plant already fitted. Gifts

A cat or rabbit frame with a plant makes a good present for a keen gardener, and it's something they'll come back to every summer. Frames are made to order and usually dispatched within a week.
