Ready made topiary sculptures
Living topiary animals and shapes, grown over our handmade steel frames until they're fully covered in leaf.
Growing a topiary sculpture from a bare frame can take several years. Our ready made topiary skips that part. We plant each frame at our workshop in the New Forest, then train and clip it until the whole shape is covered, so it looks finished on the day it arrives.
The range
The smaller pieces, such as hearts, rabbits, chickens, spirals and flowers, are grown in 7.5L and 10L pots and sit well on a patio or beside a door. Bigger sculptures include horses, ponies, a foal, a stag, a roe deer, swans, an eagle and the Liver Bird. Then there are the less usual designs: a Spitfire, a cannon, a valiant sword, a bird feeder, a nesting box, and numbers and letters you can use to spell out a house name or an anniversary date.
Which plants we use
Most of our ready made topiary is grown in Ligustrum delavayanum, a small-leaved evergreen privet that fills a frame densely and puts up with frequent clipping. Some pieces are grown in Ilex crenata, which has slightly darker leaves, and a few use ivy (Hedera helix) or Lonicera nitida. Each product page tells you which plant it is.
Looking after it
Put your sculpture somewhere sunny or lightly shaded and water it regularly from spring to autumn, because pots dry out quickly. Feed it in spring, and trim it two or three times between late spring and late summer to keep the outline crisp. In a hard frost, move a potted piece somewhere sheltered or wrap the pot to protect the roots. Every sculpture comes with free plant food.
Ready made or bespoke?
Everything here is a design we've made many times before, which is why it costs less than a one-off commission. If you have something of your own in mind, have a look at our bespoke topiary at Agrumi Topiary Art, or get in touch.
